extends pretty long. I just hate that I didn't realize the string is a ribbon so it might not be very durable. I love the buttons. They are easy to use and manage when walking multiple dogs at a time.
This is a fantastic leash. Its strong leather and very sturdy. I love the braided ends to give a little bit of give for my dog. My Lightning is a 10 month old 90 lb German Shepherd. She is a working line dog with blood lines back to the Czech Border Patrol. She is a very strong willed and intelligent dog. She really enjoys her walks on this leather leash. It looks classy and is built as great as it looks.
It's larger than we thought it would be. We have a Malti-Tzu so he looks silly on a leash that big. But, it does its job and I like the light on it. Our backyard is dark and the light helps keep up with him.

I have yet to use it for an extended time, but will be updating my review if I find more positive things or negative things about it. If it holds up to my rambunctious but super lovable, hairy and large rescue pup, then I will definitely purchase another one for my other walking/running (more mature) companion !!
Strong dog leash. Our 2 yr old English Pointer Mix likes to chew on this thing when he first starts our walking but it is tough enough to last for about 3 dozen walks so far. Ed C
This is a good leash for walking two dogs. No problems with the leash retracting. However it isnt 100% tangle proof. Every once is in a while the leash gets crossed up but, a few brief seconds and you can uncross the leash and be on your way. Also the locks on the leash are fully on or fully off. You can't just push the button to stop leash from extending or retracting without the button going into the fully locked position. I have had other dual walk leashes and this one is a keeper. When you first use it, give yourself a few times out to get used to it. Takes more than one walk to get used to the operation. I think its really a great leash.

Heavy duty! I don't mind that it is larger to hold, as long as it keeps my dog safe. Use it everyday on hikes with my 53 pound dog.

Only bee a couple of weeks, but impressed with the line return system - it hasn't ever twisted which was one of my initial concerns for a flat line.
