Unfortunately, the door was not as sturdy as I was hoping it would be...it was much flimsier than many reviews had described.I read several reviews trying to get a good idea of the product; however, after the product arrived, I opened the package immediately and found that it was not what I expected: from other descriptions i imagined that the door was spring-loaded somehow. It is not. It simply hangs down. Also, as some previous comments stated, the locks are not sturdy. An animal could easily come through the door even if it has been secured.The reason I gave 5 stars is not because of the product, but rather, the customer service. I was not immediately able to return the product and it wasn't until almost a month later before I got around to it. The company did not give me any grief at all and they immediately processed a refund to my credit card. Customer service skills left nothing to be desired...they were great.
The product came fast from Amazon. The cat door is well made and easy to install. I strongly suggest pulling the target door off it's hinges to do the install if you are installing it in a door.I am using this cat door to provide access through my fence for my cat to get to the side door of my garage where I am using a different cat door to control access to and from the garage to the outside.I have 2 indoor cats allowed into the garage but not outside; one cat that is allowed in the house, garage, or outside; and one only allowed into the garage or outside. I used this in my fence to allow the outdoor cats access to the side of the house and outside garage door without being bothered by my dogs as it lets out into a fenced garden area that the dogs can't get too. At least that's the plan. LOL.
I absolutely loved this leash. The leather is so soft and it is perfect in length. The gold clasp is difficult to put on with one hand. The only issue I had was that my dog got a hold of it and tore it to pieces.
These are good for us. The light & the bag holder makes handling our 2 dogs easier and the handles are big enough that you can wear mittens/gloves. The light isn't extremely powerful, but it's enough to be a help.
It took a looooooong time to get to me, at least. I think it took 3-4 weeks to even ship out, but once it got here, it's been awesome. I thought 4ft would be a little two short, but it turned out to be a great length. Product seems to be of pretty high quality stuff and the grip is comfy. The ropes have a little stretch to them, not much, but just a little, and I like that a lot.
We're on our second "Cat Mate" door. The last one we bought held up for 10 years, with 4 cats going in and out of the house all day. I would definitely recommend this size over anything smaller, especially if you have large cats. Installation is simple and the 4 sliding tabs at the bottom of the door allow you direct your "cat traffic" easily. You'll need to keep the tabs clean of dirt and fur so that they slide easily. A little silicone spray helps, too.
my cats were first quite intimidated by the strong magnet that keeps this door closed, but they have since figured it out and are using two of these doors several times a day with out incident.
