I have a Boston Terrier who's used to being on a leash. And I must say, this is an awesome product! I love how everything is combined. I had a similar ribbon leash that is perfectly strong enough for my Bubba. So I knew the ribbon leash would be fine and since I plan on a few trips out of town, I just had to have this one that was all-inclusive. So much easier than trying to balance a flashlight and carry the "poopy" bag AND keep Bubba restrained. I've already used this and really like it!
I like this leather leash because it is sturdy. Better then the leather leashes at the pet stores. I will purchase one more. For my second dog that will be arriving the end of March
It's good quality and big, which matters considering how fat one of may cats is. However, the magnet is strong, and the cats have yet to get use to it. Good for an outside door I guess. But I am going to try to remove one. Also, my last door had the option of taking the door out by unscrewing and opening the door, so it can be always open. Which is useful for an inside door, or while they are getting use to a door.
Strong and effective yet soft and comfortable in the hand. I wasn't able to control my 80LB pit mix very well until I got this leash. She loves romping with other dogs so she'd drag me along whenever she saw a potential playmate. I'm a 63 year old woman so I need all the help I can get to curb her enthusiasm. Upgrading to this leash changed everything. With the help of a leather glove and the Lavien leash she now knows that I'm the one in charge. I'm no longer afraid she'll get away from me and run into traffic. She gets walked every day now and I have the confidence in knowing I can handle her. No fear. Highly recommended.
I have two small dogs under 20lbs and this works just fine. It does sometimes need a little extra help flipping over to detangle crossed lines, but I found that giving the handle a few shakes can get the mechanism to flip over on its own. It is bulkier and obviously heavier than a single dog retractable but its not going to break your wrist with weight or anything.
It isn't perfect but it does what you expect and is very good retractable for smaller dogs who don't walk in the same way, same direction, etc. The color coded leash and buttons are a nice touch, but best part is that it leaves one hand free for holding other things, like treats or a cell phone. Just keep an eye on line twisting and fix it as it happens. Debating buying an extra as a backup for the future but it's held up for 6 months in good condition.
I haven't had them long enough to report on the durability of the leashes. They seem heavy duty enough. My dogs are large a golden retriever and black lab. Neither are not bad about pulling so I don't expect a problem. I was disappointed with how big and heavy the items are. As I said I have 2 big dogs and 1 of these is truly a heavy handful. My last retractable leash lasted several years through my previous golden and to the 2 current dogs. It was no where near as big and heavy as these. There's no way I can hold on to both handles in 1 hand so hopefully I won't need to use a hand for something else while walking the dogs.
This is our second dual dog pet leash. We love it. We finally wore the first one out over years of use. We have 2 dogs between 15 and 20 pounds each. They are walked 4 times a day. My hubby would be lost without this leash because he needs to use a cane when walking. He is able to easily walk our dogs using only one hand, while still having his other hand for his cane. I walk them also and have no problems walking but still love to use the dual leash. I have even bought a double walker that is not retractable because I use a plain leash when working on training commands and walk training. Love them both.
