Our 13 year old,16 pound cat learned to use this door in a matter of minutes (he already uses a soft flap cat door). The door is not very big but our cat has no problem getting through it. I like being able to control the locking features (in only, out only, either way or neither way). Installation was straight-forward and easy on a 1 3/4" hollow core door. I did insert 4 wood blocks inside the door to provide something substantial into which the cat door screws can be driven.
It is perfect for my 13lb terrier who is losing her hearing. It gives her a bit of that "off-leash" feeling in the park while still remaining safe and connected to me. I do not use it when there are other dogs or people around.
I adopted a new puppy and I already have a 10 year old tea cup poodle. It was impossible to walk them with 2 separate leashes. They kept getting tangled and it was no fun for them or me. I saw this leash and decided to try it. What a great invention. It works great. New gets tangled and they can got their separate ways and everyone is happy.
If you have purchased any other retractable dog leash return it. This is the best dog leash we have experienced today. ( I have to admit it is our first one;-)The light is amazing for those late walks and the locking mechanism is secure and makes a clicking noise if your doing click training. Its really 4 in 1.
Had this leash for about a week so far, it feals very high quality, compared to some of the leashes I have had in the past, and at the same time it is priced better than most that I have seen in stores
